How we work

Depending on clients’ needs we take projects from the earliest feasibility stage through to completion and handover, offering either a Design and Manage or a Design and Build service.

We work as a team with clients, curators and other specialists and have a proven track-record of developing award-winning displays which make strong emotional connections with visitors. We also have invaluable experience of being part of successful funding bids, including NLHF applications.

We plan

Interpretation Plans, Options Appraisals & Feasibility Studies

We offer a specialist service in Interpretation Planning and pride ourselves on our ability to develop creative and engaging Interpretation Plans with audiences at their heart. We also produce feasibility studies and options appraisals for the tourism and heritage sector.

We regularly receive positive feedback on the interpretive approach, including being cited in best practice interpretation training. I still consider ‘What would Studioarc do?’ as part of our ongoing exhibition and display programmes!”

Helen Fothergill, Service Manager Archives, Gallery & Museums, Aberdeen City Council

We develop

Research, Writing and Content Development

We research and create content to ensure high levels of visitor engagement. We use our interpretation skills to develop strong and engaging narratives and provide opportunities for learning through participation. We layer content to make it accessible and inclusive, and to meet the diverse needs of visitors with different learning styles.

“Studioarc’s input was truly exceptional. It was their creative approach, grounded in painstaking research and supported by innovative design solutions, along with their experience and professionalism, which enabled the transformation of the attraction to be successfully delivered. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.”

Les Perez, General Manager, Stirling District Tourism

We design

Exhibition, Graphic, Interior, Digital and Interactive design

Creating meaningful and memorable experiences is at the heart of all our work. From graphics to fully immersive environments, we approach design as a three-stage process, encouraging visitors to: Engage, Explore and Connect.

“Studioarc worked tirelessly to deliver a world class exhibition on a complex subject matter. The final exhibition design gave the artefacts theatrical and emotive context and enhanced the story of Bonnie Prince Charlie. The exhibition was hugely successful for us and yielded a very high rate of visitor satisfaction. It received exceptional critical acclaim, both in the UK and internationally”

Alison Cromarty, Exhibitions Manager, National Museums Scotland

We implement

Project Management, Design and Build

With 30 years’ experience of delivering often large and complex projects, we have exceptional skills in project management and cost control. We have a proven track-record in delivering projects which are commercially appealing and sustainable and we offer both a Design and Build or Design and Management service. We also work as part of larger multi-disciplinary teams.

“We chose Studioarc because they understood our needs and we were confident that they would produce a result which would make us feel proud. Our confidence was justified in both their design department and in the project management. Studioarc went the extra mile to ensure that every detail was just right.”

Richard Brodie, Chairman, Eastriggs and Gretna Heritage Trust

We support

Client relationships and Support

Maintaining excellent relationships with our clients is important to us and we continue to provide support once a project is handed over.

“Their project management was exceptional. Throughout the project I felt we had 100% commitment. Studioarc has continued to support the project post re-opening to the public and the ongoing open communication combined with care and attention to detail has been impressive.”

Christine Rew, Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museum Manager
